Lie 19, 2021News

Wednesday, July 14th, CESIE presented the project MyHandScraft – Migrants’ Hands and Skills to Create a Future Track during the final event of the project Rinf – „Recycle in Fashion“, funded by the Anna Lindh Foundation, aimed at easing the sharing of experiences and good practices among EuroMed countries and at showing the positive impact of intercultural dialogue, promoting a new model of ethical business in the fashion sector.

The event which was held at the archeological Museum A. Salinas in Palermo, saw the participation of many stakeholders, including the representatives from the partner organisations (ComeUnaMarea Onlus, Italy, promoter of the event, Gozoor Cultural Development, Egypt and Centre for Design Research, Slovenia)  which presented the fashion product created during the project, the president of ALAB, the association of free artisans/artist in Palermo, representatives of successful realities in the sectors of fashion and handicraft such as DressYouCan and Sartoria Sociale, and some policy-makers and institutional representatives (councillor for youth policies and school of the Municipality of Palermo, and a representative of the Superintendence for sea).

In the light of the synergies identified between the projects RinF and MyHandScraft, both aimed at enhancing handicraft as a tool for sharing between different cultures, CESIE had the opportunity to present the project to the participants in the event, showing the main results and products and explaining the work carried out of the 30 months of project’s implementation. Furthermore, printed projects’ leaflets were distributed among participants, in order to facilitate their access to the MyHandScraft E-Learning Platform and all the resources accessible therein.
